Take a Stitch on Tuesday, April 2, 2013  It’s week 12, the day after April Fool’s Day (I’m grateful to have made it through without being fooled by an epic prank from my sister April!!) AND we’ve already had a beautiful Easter Sunday. Spring is in the air in this hemisphere anyway! Spring makes me happy 🙂
This week’s stitch is Barred Chain stitch, and Alternating Barred Chain stitch. Here is the SharonB’s Stitch Dictionary pages with instructions on how to do it.
- Barred Chain Stitch: Â http://inaminuteago.com/stitchdict/stitch/Chain-barred.html
- Alternating Barred Chain Stitch:Â http://inaminuteago.com/stitchdict/stitch/Chain-alt-bar.html
There are no stitch variations ON these two stitches because these are variations themselves! If you need to brush up on the basics, check out basic Chain stitch and then Twisted Chain stitch from SharonB’s Stitch Dictionary!
Here’s what SharonB wrote for TAST 2012 Week 12: Barred Stitch. You can read her instructions and see inspiring examples there.
- Pintangle post for TAST week 12
- Here’s some creative inspiration for these stitches from the TAST 2012 stitchers.
Please follow her procedure and put a link to your published Barred/Alt.Barred Chain Stitch and their variations pictures in the comments of the latest TAST post here. Just click the post title, and scroll down to the comment section!
Please post the link to your Barred/Alt.Barred Chain Stitch photos in THIS comment section if you also wish to share it here.
Of course, I will be putting my TAST 2012 Re-run stitches right here on this blog, because that’s why I started it in the first place 🙂
Happy Stitching!
